Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation (SWCSO)

Legal Requirement

Factories Act (Chapter 104, Section 27 A) Factories (Safety Training courses) Order stipulates that “The occupier of a factory shall ensure that any person, who is appointed as a manhole supervisor to supervise work carried out in manholes or confined spaces in building and engineering construction worksites, should attend the safety training course- Safety Instruction Course (Manhole)”

For Whom

This course would be appropriate for Engineer, Safety Personnel, Foremen, Supervisors and Contractors who have to work and supervise in the manhole and other confined spaces.

Entry Requirement

  • Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 5 under the Employability Skills System (ESS) or equivalent.

Course Overview

Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation is one of the core units in all process sectors of the Process Industry. It specifies the skills and knowledge required by people to Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation.
